A space between experience and expression. Between where we have been and where we might go, presented by two community art organisations.
Overview
The Space Between
The Space Between brings together two community-based artistic practices that explore the transformative potential of making, sharing and being seen.
Featuring work by Arts for Health alongside a new work created collectively through Creative Expression for Wāhine, a pilot arts programme developed for women participating in community-based sentence pathways by Copper Mesh Creatives, the exhibition offers a glimpse into stories and experiences that are rarely given space within conventional gallery settings.
Here, art becomes a space for expression, connection and possibility — a place where personal experience can take form, where voices can be heard, and where new perspectives can emerge.
Rather than defining the people behind the work, The Space Between invites us to encounter the works on their own terms: as expressions of identity, resilience, imagination and change.
